Tellina bodegensis was named by Hinds (1844). It is extant.

It was recombined as Tellina (Peronidia) bodegensis by Clark and Arnold (1923), Coan et al. (2000) and Moore (2003); it was recombined as Megangulus bodegensis by Hendy (2021).
