Beyrichia nanella was named by Moberg and Segerberg (1906). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Nanopsis nanella by Henningsmoen (1953) and Tinn and Meidla (2004).

O. Tinn and T. Meidla 2004Small postplete species. Valve surface smooth, rarely showing slight reticulation. Ventral margin of left valve often bulged near the mid-length. Hinge-line straight, short.
