Ehrhardina pikeae was named by Martha and Taylor (2016). Its type specimen is SMF 29988 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Steinbruch Rauen, Kassenberg Quarry, Mülheim/Ruhr, which is in a Cenomanian shallow subtidal limestone in Germany.
