Taxonomy
Daonella pichleri was named by Mojsisovics (1874). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pedratsches (Buchenstein Fm.), which is in an Illyrian/Fassanian carbonate lime mudstone in the Buchenstein Formation of Italy.
It was recombined as Daonella (Pichlerella) pichleri by Schatz (2001).
