Baculites carinatus was named by Morton (1834) [m. kosnik taxon no: 2857]. It is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Eubaculites carinatus by Henderson et al. (1992), Ward and Kennedy (1993), Klinger and Kennedy (1993), Kennedy and Cobban (1996), Klinger et al. (2001) and Salazar et al. (2010).
