Microwhaitsia mendrezi
Taxonomy
Microwhaitsia mendrezi was named by Huttenlocker and Smith (2017). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-K10990, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is De Hoop 117, Badshoek, Beaufort West, Tropidostoma Assemblage Zone, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Teekloof Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Microwhaitsia.
