Taxonomy
Phacoides quadrata was named by Dickerson (1914). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP 784, which is in a Paleocene marine horizon in the Martinez Formation of California.

It was recombined as Lucina (Lucina) quadrata by Moore (1988).
