Taxonomy
Spisula weaveri was named by Dickerson (1914). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP 1556, which is in a Paleocene marine horizon in the Martinez Formation of California.
It was recombined as Arctica weaveri by Smith (1975); it was recombined as Mactromeris weaveri by Moore (2003).
