Taxonomy
Dikelocephalus quadriceps was named by Hall and Whitfield (1877).

It was recombined as Dorypyge quadriceps by Dames (1884), Walcott (1889), Matthew (1897) and Mason (1935); it was recombined as Olenoides quadriceps by Walcott (1886), Walcott (1888) and Walcott (1890); it was misspelled as Dicellocephalus quadriceps by Walcott (1884); it was recombined as Kootenia quadriceps by Palmer (1954) and Sundberg (1994).

Cranidium with parallel, concave axial furrows; short palpebral lobes (20-25% glabellar length).
