Taxonomy
Cranaena dorsisulcata was named by Carter (1967). Its type specimen is USNM 154925, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Valkenburg aan de Geul, which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate limestone in the Maastricht Formation of the Netherlands.
