Stenorhynchosaurus munozi

Taxonomy
Stenorhynchosaurus munozi was named by Páramo-Fonseca et al. (2016). Its type specimen is VL17052004-1, a partial skeleton (Skull, trunk, appendicular skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Stenorhynchosaurus munozi type locality, which is in a Barremian marginal marine claystone in the Paja Formation of Colombia. It is the type species of Stenorhynchosaurus.

M. E. Páramo-Fonseca et al. 2023The diagnosis of Stenorhynchosaurus munozi follows Páramo-Fonseca et al. (2019) except for the following features, which are observed in the new specimen. Premaxilla with five (not four) functional alveoli, the anterior one procumbent and smaller than other premaxillary teeth. The autapomorphy concerning the vomer is specified as follows: vomer extending dorsally above the palatal processes of the premaxillae, but in ventral view ending posterior to the palatal premaxilla-maxilla suture
