Puzosia stoliczkai was named by Kossmat (1898).

It was recombined as Bhimaites stoliczkai by Wild and Stilwell (2016); it was recombined as Puzosia (Bhimaites) stoliczkai by El Qot (2018) and Gautam et al. (2019).
