Cytheridea caldwellensis was named by Howe and Chambers (1935) [indicated as Cytheridea ? caldwellensis]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gibson landing on the Ouachita River, Caldwell Parish, which is in an Eocene marginal marine horizon in Louisiana.
