Taxonomy
Pseudastacus serialis was named by Carter (1886). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fletton brick pit, Peterborough (Leeds collection, Sedgwick museum), which is in a Callovian marine horizon in the Oxford Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Palaeopagurus serialis by Schweitzer et al. (2010).
