Taxonomy
Chrysemys platymarginata was named by Weaver and Robertson (1967). Its type specimen is UF 11046 (holotype), a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Haile XVA, which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in Florida.
