Euepirrhysia was named by Dieci et al. (1968) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn Sepkoski's reference number: 978]. It is not extant. Its type is Euepirrhysia montanaroae.

It was assigned to Pharetronida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pharetrospongiinae by Finks et al. (2004).
