Olenellus thompsoni

Taxonomy
Olenus thompsoni was named by Hall (1859). Its type specimen is YPM 8189 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Olenellus, Olenellus (Olenellus).

It was recombined as Barrandia thompsoni by Hall (1860); it was recombined as Paradoxides thompsoni by Barrande (1861); it was recombined as Elliptocephala thompsoni by Miller (1889); it was recombined as Olenellus (Olenellus) thompsoni by Palmer and Repina (1993), Lieberman (1998); it was recombined as Olenellus thompsoni by Hall (1861), Hall (1862), Ford (1881), Walcott (1886), Holm (1887), Lesley (1889), Walcott (1891), Cole (1892), Frech (1897), Moberg (1899), Lindström (1901), Walcott (1910), Resser and Howell (1938), Lieberman (1999).
