Taxonomy
Chrysochloris arenosa was named by Asher and Avery (2010). Its type specimen is SAM-PQL 20177, a set of postcrania (humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Langebaanweg unspecified Pliocene quarries, which is in a Pliocene terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
