Taxonomy
Kolymia posneri was named by Muromzeva et al. (2018). Its type specimen is KGU 551/424, a valve (right valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Kentegeley River, Otto-Sala Basin, Western Verkhoyan, which is in a Roadian marine siliciclastic in the Delendzha Formation of the Russian Federation.
