Taxonomy
Incacetus was named by Colbert (1944) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-m Sepkoski's reference number: 746]. It is not extant. Its type is Incacetus broggii.

It was assigned to Ziphiidae by Colbert (1944), Mead (1975) and Carroll (1988); to Autoceta by McKenna and Bell (1997); to Cetacea by Sepkoski (2002); to Kentriodontinae by de Muizon (1988), Fordyce and de Muizon (2001) and Marx et al. (2016); and to Kentriodontidae by Ichishima et al. (1995), Cozzuol (1996) and Berta (2017).
