Taxonomy
Calymene quadrata was named by King (1923). Its type specimen is GSM 31742,3, an exoskeleton (external and internal moulds of articulated exoskeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Flexicalymene quadrata by Shirley (1936) and Hiller (1981); it was recombined as Sthenarocalymene quadrata by Siveter (1977); it was recombined as Gravicalymene quadrata by Price (1982) and Smith and Ebach (2020).
