Taxonomy
Melocrinidae was named by Wachsmuth and Springer [authors recoded as 'Zittel em. Wachsmuth and Springer' by Goldring, 1936]. It is not extant. Its type is Melocrinus.

It was corrected as Melocrinitidae by Ubaghs et al. (1978).

It was assigned to Camerata by Goldring (1936); and to Melocrinitacea by Ubaghs et al. (1978).
