Taxonomy

Stylina pleionantha was named by Meneghini (1880).

Synonyms

Plesiostylina bulbosa was named by Beauvais and M'Rabet (1977). Its type locality is Corals of Djebel Siouf, which is in a Berriasian marine marl in the Sidi Kralif Formation of Tunisia.

It was recombined as Stylina bulbosa by Kiessling (2014); it was synonymized subjectively with Stylina pleionantha by Baron-Szabo (2018).
