Taxonomy
Calymene clavifrons was named by Dalman (1827) [Calymene? clavifrons. ]. Its type specimen is RM Ar.17907, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cyrtometopus clavifrons by Angelin (1854) and Hansen (2010).
