Taxonomy
Kepplerites lorinclarki was named by Imlay (1961). Its type specimen is USNM 130777 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Mesozoic Loc. 27313, which is in a Callovian marine horizon in the Colfax Formation of California.
