Taxonomy
Ficus plectatus was named by Waring (1917). Its type specimen is CAS 61667.05 (formerly LSJU 153) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southwest of Santa Susana, which is in a Danian transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in the Las Virgenes Formation of California.
