Oniscidia plectata

Taxonomy
Ficus plectatus was named by Waring (1917). Its type specimen is CAS 61667.05 (formerly LSJU 153) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southwest of Santa Susana, which is in a Danian transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in the Las Virgenes Formation of California.

It was recombined as Oniscidia plectata by Squires (2018).

R. L. Squires 2018Shell size medium. Last whorl with ~11 strong, smoothish axial ribs extending to pillar. Spiral ribs cover shell with micro-cancellate texture, but spiral ribs much weaker than axial ribs. Columellar callus weak, not very extensive. Outer lip varix interior not denticulate.
