Pegocomptus howardi
Taxonomy
Molopophorus howardi was named by Dickerson (1914). Its type specimen is UCMP 11762, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 2246, Rock Creek, which is in an Eocene shallow subtidal sandstone/shale in the San Francisquito Formation of California. It is the type species of Pegocomptus.
It was recombined as Pseudoliva howardi by Waring (1917); it was recombined as Pegocomptus howardi by Zinsmeister (1983).
