Fulica newtonii (Mascarene coot)
Taxonomy
Fulica newtonii was named by Milne-Edwards (1867). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mare aux Songes swamp (Clark collection), which is in a Holocene mire/swamp peat in Mauritius.
It was recombined as Palaeolimnas newtoni by Brodkorb (1967).
