G. Mayr and J. L. Goedert 2018 | Most inclusive clade comprising Tonsala Olson, 1980, but not Plotopterum Howard, 1969, Stemec Kaiser et al., 2015, and Phocavis Goedert, 1988. Characterized by: coracoid with (1) entire sternal portion of facies articularis humeralis extending beyond facies articularis scapularis; (2) facies articularis scapularis cup-shaped; (3) extremitas sternalis with long and strap-like medial projection; (4) crista articularis sternalis low in sterno- omal direction and with very wide ventral portion; (5) tarsometa- tarsus without foramen vasculare distale (in Hokkaidornis and Copepteryx there is a distally open dorsal fossa, but the plantar opening of a true foramen vasculare distale is absent). |
