Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
G. Mayr and J. L. Goedert 2018Most inclusive clade comprising Tonsala Olson, 1980, but not Plotopterum Howard, 1969, Stemec Kaiser et al., 2015, and Phocavis Goedert, 1988. Characterized by: coracoid with (1) entire sternal portion of facies articularis humeralis extending beyond facies articularis scapularis; (2) facies articularis scapularis cup-shaped; (3) extremitas sternalis with long and strap-like medial projection; (4) crista articularis sternalis low in sterno- omal direction and with very wide ventral portion; (5) tarsometa- tarsus without foramen vasculare distale (in Hokkaidornis and Copepteryx there is a distally open dorsal fossa, but the plantar opening of a true foramen vasculare distale is absent).
