Tridachnes maxima was named by Roeding (1798) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10330]. It is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Chama maxima by Röding (1798); it was recombined as Tridacna (Chametrachea) maxima by Harzhauser et al. (2008); it was recombined as Tridacna maxima by Kosnik (2002) and Salvat et al. (2018).
