Grus latipes
Taxonomy
Baeopteryx latipes was named by Wetmore (1960). Its type specimen is USNM 22505, a set of limb elements (right tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is H. Bernard Wilkinson Quarry, which is in a Pleistocene fissure fill horizon in Bermuda.
It was recombined as Grus latipes by Olson and Wingate (2000).
