Taxonomy
Cyrtonotreta vasculata was named by Benedetto (2015). Its type specimen is CEGH-UNC 25771, a valve (dorsal valve internal mold), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro La Chilca Section Palaeoglossa–Chilcorthis Association, which is in a Darriwilian deep-water shale/marl in the Los Azules Formation of Argentina.

J. L. Benedetto 2015Shell transversely oval. Ventral valve proportionally low, nearly catacline; dorsal valve with shallow sulcus, straight dorsal pseudointerarea averaging 57% of the valve width. Small apical process, minute pedicle tube. Dorsal visceral area deeply impressed occupying 20–25% of the valve length; median buttress poorly developed or absent; median septum bladelike, extending over the 60–70% of total valve length. Both valves with deeply impressed pinnate mantle canal system.
