Taxonomy
Philhedra pauciradiata was named by Benedetto (2015). Its type specimen is CEGH-UNC 25768, a valve (internal and external molds of a single dorsal valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro La Chilca Section Palaeoglossa–Chilcorthis Association, which is in a Darriwilian deep-water shale/marl in the Los Azules Formation of Argentina.
