Taxonomy
Arca (Arca) givensi was named by Squires (1991). Its type specimen is UCR 4667/131, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCR loc. 4667, near Sespe Hot Springs, which is in a Ypresian marine horizon in the Juncal Formation of California.
