Taxonomy
Acrilla procerus was named by Zinsmeister (1983). Its type specimen is UCR 4579/10, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Runkle Canyon, which is in a Thanetian marine conglomerate in the Simi Formation of California.
