Perissitys stewarti
Taxonomy
Cophocara stewarti was named by Zinsmeister (1983). Its type specimen is UCR 6670/9, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Meier Canyon, which is in a Thanetian open shallow subtidal conglomerate in the Simi Formation of California.
It was recombined as Perissitys stewarti by Popenoe and Saul (1987) and Saul (1988).
