Neseuretus paronai

Taxonomy
Calymene paronai was named by Pellizzari (1913). Its type specimen is PU 12505 (internal mould of a complete enrolled exoskeleton) and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Colpocoryphe paronai by Kobayashi (1951); it was recombined as Flexicalymene poronai by Hammann (1983); it was recombined as Neseuretus paronai by Turvey (2005) and Turvey and Siveter (2007).

Siveter 2007Species of Neseuretus with the following combination of characters: gently convergent subtrapezoidal glabella with strongly defined glabellar furrows; cephalic posterior border and posterior border furrow slightly expanded distally; posterior branch of facial suture opposite L2 for most of length; palpebral lobe centred opposite L3; swollen preglabellar field, strongly defined anterior border furrow and strongly upturned anterior border; librigena with wide lateral border; pygidium with seven or eight axial rings, five complete pleural furrows and at least four pleural ribs, with only the first two ribs well defined; terminal piece not laterally inflated; terminal area almost 30% pygidial length; fulcrum marked by shallow vincular furrow starting halfway between axial furrow and lateral margin; interpleural furrows present on outer pleural area.
