Stegerhynchella was named by Rzhonsnitskaya (1959) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-m S Ludl Sepkoski's reference number: 25,965].
It was synonymized subjectively with Stegerhynchus by Williams et al. (2002); it was misspelled as Stegorhynchella by Sepkoski (2002) and Rong et al. (2008).
It was assigned to Articulata by Rzhonsnitskaya (1959); to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Rhynchotrematidae by Rong et al. (2008).
