Taxonomy
Praepleurocystis ranaformis was named by Guensburg (1984). Its type specimen is UI X-5697 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pulaski Loc. Z-652. 15 meters. M. C. West Lime Company Quarry at Turney, which is in a Blackriveran deep subtidal shelf limestone/siltstone in the Lebanon Limestone Formation of Tennessee.
