Taxonomy
Say kirgizicus was named by Aristov (2018). Its type specimen is PIN 2032/576, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Sai-Sagul, Shurab III (PIN collection 2032), which is in a Toarcian lacustrine - small siliciclastic in the Sagul Formation of Kyrgyzstan. It is the type species of Say.
