Taxonomy
Wanneria jacqueti was named by Neltner and Poctey (1949). Its type specimen is SGM Tr711 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Neltneria.

It was recombined as Neltneria jacqueti by Palmer and Repina (1993).
