Taxonomy
Pecten (Patinopecten) yakatagensis was named by Clark (1932). Its type specimen is UCMP 30381, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP 3859, which is in a Chattian marine horizon in the Yakataga Formation of Alaska.
