Callavia nevadensis was named by Walcott (1910).

It was recombined as Paedumias nevadensis by Resser (1928); it was recombined as Paedeumias nevadensis by Riccio (1952); it was recombined as Olenellus nevadensis by Palmer and Halley (1979) and Lieberman (1999).
