Varialepis bergi

Elonichthyiformes - Varialepididae

Taxonomy
Varialepis bergi was named by Minikh (1986). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SGU 104-B/R-1, a skeleton (Complete, well preserved fish). Its type locality is Kichkass-1, PIN 4337, locality 30 of Tverdokhlebov et al. 2005, which is in an Urzhumian/Severodvinian coastal horizon in the Amanakskaya Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Varialepis.
