O. P. Hay 1908Related closely to Baena, but having 2 bones, an anterior and a posterior, occupying the region of the nuchal of Baena. Normally 2 scutes occupying the area corresponding to the first vertebral oi Baena. No supramarginals. Maxilla with a nearly plane triturating surface.

Gaffney 1972Baenines with temporal emargination greater than in Baena but less than in Eubaena; diameter oforbit and FORAMEN MAGNUM large relative to Baena; lateral maxillary constriction absent; nasal separate from frontals, lacking concavity and tapering in thickness anteriorly; posterior margin of skull roof with transverse ridge; basisphenoid large relative to that in Baena; preneural present; first vertebral forms posterior half of hourglass-shaped sulcus pattern occupying nuchal area, supracostal scutes present laterally in "waist" of hourglass.
