Taxonomy
Rhabdocidaris deubelbeissi was named by Hostettler and Menkveld-Gfeller (2015). Its type specimen is NMBE D4617 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 118, Jakobsberg quarry, Auenstein AG, which is in an Oxfordian offshore marl in the Wildegg Formation of Switzerland.
