Taxonomy
Weigeltisaurus was named by Kuhn (1939). It is not extant. It is the type genus of Weigeltisauridae.
It was synonymized subjectively with Coelurosauravus by Evans and Haubold (1987).
It was assigned to Reptilia by Kuhn (1964); to Coelurosauravidae by Evans (1982) and Carroll (1988); and to Weigeltisauridae by Kuhn (1966), Benton (1985) and Bulanov and Sennikov (2015).
It was synonymized subjectively with Coelurosauravus by Evans and Haubold (1987).
It was assigned to Reptilia by Kuhn (1964); to Coelurosauravidae by Evans (1982) and Carroll (1988); and to Weigeltisauridae by Kuhn (1966), Benton (1985) and Bulanov and Sennikov (2015).
