Taxonomy
Lanieria uvaldana was named by Cooke (1953). Its type specimen is USNM 108372 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 1771, Carbonville, which is in a Campanian/Campanian carbonate limestone in the Anacacho Limestone Formation of Texas.
