Taxonomy
Conulus stephensoni was named by Cooke (1953). Its type specimen is USNM 108373 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 15626, Medio Creek Valley, which is in a Santonian carbonate chalk in the Austin Chalk Formation of Texas.
