Taxonomy
Holaster feralis was named by Cooke (1953). Its type specimen is USNM 108385 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wild Horse Park, Pueblo, which is in a Turonian carbonate limestone in the Greenhorn Limestone Formation of Colorado.
